Costs: Runes are expensive in comparison to what they cost anyway. If you're looking to gain an "blunt" edge in battle, then casting a couple of spells will require more. You can use several ancinet spells in order to pile damage against your opponent. This is called "stacking". This is possible because the speed of the spells are different. To use a blood-ice combination, I will need four sets runes. I'll need about 50 projectiles, or spells to create an list of food items. I'll be using 30 spells from each. There's already 50k.

Dragonhide: D'hide isn't just cheap, it's also very good armour agaisnt magic attacks and, to a certain extent, mellee. It requires an average range, but a full set of that instantly halves the chance of succsefully casting, note I won't hit a zero allowing my spell to continue to lhit, it stops completely.

The majority of people know that the mage's defense is 70% of the magic level and 30 percent defense level. This is extremely bad for mage defense, particularly for fools. My opponent has only one defense, but 50 magic. He hasn't gained any combat levels which he's already defeated against me.

This was RS classic magic. This means that you had either low mage defense, or unused combat levels. Everyone seems to be able to protect their magic well without increasing or losing combat level. In spite of wearing the black dragon hide chaps in one defence one def, a pure can defend against my attacks, while his range and mellee attacks smack me like I were not protected.
