However negative of a reply you provide - short of leaving Jagex goods entirely, they won't make any real attempts to earn monetization better/fairer when they aren't legally compelled to. That being said - you'd think they would want to invest in furthering Runescape better, making things more modernized with the current gaming standards to attempt and create Runescape better. There was a post on here the other evening about them Dealing with another team, and everyone memeing about how they claimed to"direct the dev planet with numerous matches" or something - which is interesting considering they are among the worst at ridding (they are far worse, but they are extremely low on that scale anyhow ).
Due to how aggressive they are, and also the fact that you can't just outright purchase some things, and rather have to bet for them - which should technically be illegal, and I doubt they are in any politician's pockets right now. I find it fascinating how they're always super hyped about their history - and they clearly did not learn anything out of it, and have tarnished their new with their community by not creating off what's seen as'great' by community members, and instead continuing to do what a sizable portion of the community disagrees with. It is their game in the end, but if you create something unpalatable, people will not continue eating it forever.
It would be HUGE for new and advertising player retention too, who wants to play a game where your character looks like they jumped out of a ps2. In which the sister game with worse images is popular you mean the game? Who would have thought that graphics are not the end-all be-all when 90 percent of the time in RS3 you're not even looking at the display and are watching Netflix/etc whilst AFKing. I think part of that is that OSRS graphically is consistent, RS3 is all over the place. Not at all consistent, as even the OSRS art group has admitted OSRS's graphics' elements and they will update their art fashion.
" It is Mod Deagle (Associate Art Director, Old School RuneScape) here with an update on what the art team has been working for the last couple of weeks through these very extraordinary times. Old School has a very distinctive style that's suffered its share of twists and turns over the previous seven years. As the art director, I want to concentrate on bringing these disparate elements together. There a few things we want to tackle before diving deeper We're Taking a Look at ways to modernise the graphic features of Runescape." - OSRS's June Gielinor Gazette.
I don't think new players hop off island and instantly start afk skilling while watching Netflix or whatever. They're going to be more engaged. You mean the same thing that happens in OSRS, which still has worse graphics than RS3 but generates multiple times more gamers? A fresh coat of paint does nothing to get RS3, hell it's even a negative at this point as it would take 1 of our upgrades up on a decorative upgrade that adds actually nothing to Runescape. You need to repair the underlying issues if you would like to see an uptick in playercount.
