Even if all corporations ceased doing things wrong, it is going t...

Yeah, but they might have just as easily said"because of growing pressures" or even postponed without saying anything. Consumers see EA for some of the dumb shit they do using games that they develop and release, but they do not see what they do for triggers such as equality and office diversity (they have ever been given in multiple years). They are actually super progressive internally and must be commended on that. It's simple to be skeptical about this sort of thing, but they may just have easily avoided making an announcement. Yo, thanks for sharing this info. Regardless of how people feel about their games we ought to commend them for their innovative actions. I am surprised that I'm simply NOW hearing relating to this. I really want the gambling community will step up and start caring far more about things like this.

Same could happen if it was Epic or Activision. In case CDPR, Valve or some other beloved company did the same, comments would be wholly different. Edit: Sony did exactly the same and the general reception on these remarks are largely positive. Stay refreshing, Reddit. I don't think so. If their primary customer base is African American is does not make sense to advertise to them right now. As they won't be spending right now, as games isn't on there heads right now. Not about respect imo. More or less they're not going to the shops immediately to make purchases. Maybe this is the cynical part of me. A nice gesture, but aren't these the same men and women who censored Colin Kaepernick's name from a song in a few of the past Madden games?

I will preface this by stating I do not think that it's a terrible thing for them to bring awareness to the issue. It is significant that it can not only be ignored by taking a look from it. That said, I really do hold a certain amount of distrust towards multi-billion buck multinational corporations paying lip service to important social problems. They're in the best possible position to do more than just put out a press release or public statement. Obviously, as a philosophical business they are under no obligation to do so, and yet it rings hollow when they try to stand in solidarity with all the ordinary people. Currently there are companies out there that do things and this is the time to highlight those efforts; to show that they're more than simply words.

I would normally agree in the case of paying lip service to social issues without also putting cash and support to advocate for change or implementing it to the company and their work in the very least. Having said that police brutality isn't just something that a company like EA throwing cash at the issue does considerably towards fixing. At best they put money towards the lawyers and groups that struggle to see justice after the fact or lobby to get laws changed in the present government won't. It's systemic issues within authorities of not reporting their own and holding them accountable instead staying quiet and with the authorities unions that allow it all to occur or in a sense even promote it by the repercussions being a slap on the wrist followed by being hired in a different precinct showing them there's no consequences. Before even getting to laws and rulings such as qualified immunity that shield abusive cops and permit them to misuse their power . The majority of that EA and many capitalist businesses are not able to do all that much about making it unfair to state they're in the best possible position to do more.

Those in the best possible position to do more would be the supposed good cops by no more staying quiet and allowing bad cops to eliminate their abuse of power or voting to get better leadership for their marriages which won't enable the behaviour. But of course it is just words. Businesses will only ever do these things once public opinion has turned one way. Even if all corporations ceased doing things wrong, it is going to take a longlong time for this picture of corporate America to lose its tarnish. Part of what we might do is elect politicians who promise they'll hold these corporations accountable. It probably wont happen by itself. This would be a lot easier if a person like that may run for office successfully.
