That a large majority of RuneScape players don't take them

This isn't a complaint, this isn't a suggestion, this is not a question, which is a philosophical opinion. Please read the entire text, and should you're feeling the necessity to disprove me or show support, by all means do. Please do not attempt and act smart, that is not the purpose of this. When replying, I need YOUR view on the topic. Do not read what other individuals have place, simply put what you think.

Do Mutes Work? I will create a few of these threads for you to discuss the idea displayed and to have your own opinion on it. The next time, I will examine the game's economy, and how people can change it. Let us start off; what is a mute? Well, a mute is your punishment given to a person if they've broken up a rule to an extent that action must be removed. Let's bring out the important word there; punishment.

Punishments are given all the time, to get a large collection of reasons. The most common of these are censor evasion, advertisements and talking inappropriate things. Why are the granted? They are supposedly given to stop someone creating another event of rule-breaking within the community; and to provide the player time to think over their action, and weather they will do it . Do they have this desirable result? No.

The problem with muting is that a large majority of gamers do not take them in the ideal way. Many players will immediately begin whining, ranting and planning revenge on the person who had initially reported them due to their actions, if the individual has come forward truthfully. I will explain this in more detail in the future, there's another difficulty; Quickchat. Quickchat was made with two motives in mind. The first being to help individuals display set messages faster, and also the second to allow people that are muted to convey normally. Lots of people don't realise that people who are muted have as much freedom of speech just as someone who is not. Yes, they can not explain complex things, but they could still speak normally and fluently, and cause havoc.
